Frequently Asked Questions

A peer advisory council is a hand-picked group of 8 to 12 business owners and CEOs who help each other identify and capitalize on their opportunities, as well as discover insights into their toughest challenges.

Council members must be

  1. From non-competing industries
  2. Unbiased, with no conflicts of interest, and
  3. Committed to confidentiality and accountability.

Each council meets once each month for a half day, and creates deep, trusting relationships that one member described as “the best friends I see only four hours per month.” There truly is nothing like the relationships that quickly develop with people going through exactly what you are.

Because no one else is telling you the truth…

It’s not that they don’t want to. They simply can’t.

Employees, clients, vendors, family, and friends will never tell you what you really need to know, even if they want to, because they often don’t understand the complexity of what you’re talking about. Plus, they have their own biases and conflicts of interest to cloud their judgment. They simply have a different perspective.

But peers, real peers – people who run a company of a similar size and scope – know exactly what you’re talking about. They share your perspective and have “been there, done that.”

Because they speak your same language, yet have their own unique experiences, they bring solutions and insights you never considered, and opportunities you never even conceived. The result? Improved profitability, efficiency, and the ability to work on your business proactively, not reactively.

Griffin Executive Group uses the nation’s #1 peer and mastermind group framework designed specifically for the needs of CEOs and business owners.

Since 2005, LXCouncil’s proven model of executive peer group meetings with their four-pillar methodology has the highest success rate for member retention at greater than 99%, with members staying involved on average for five years or more.

We want you to have a community of executive peers who act as your advisory board in a confidential environment you can trust. Griffin Executive Group does the legwork, considering dozens of factors during a discovery interview to decide if a CEO or business owner is a good fit. Prospective members will then attend a council session so the peer executives can meet them and both parties can determine whether the group is a right fit.

When the optimal members are identified, the council begins meeting once a month for half a day. All you have to do is to commit to being open, honest, and prepared each month with non-urgent, vision-based needs ready for your council members’ insight.

During each meeting, each member reports on the state of their business and how they are doing as a CEO. Each member has the chance to raise challenges, opportunities, problems, or ideas to the group for insights. They participate in robust roundtable discussions on a number of topics to give actionable advice and feedback to their fellow council members. Most importantly, as part of the agenda, each member makes a commitment to their business. The council members will hold one another accountable updating the group on the progress made on their commitment by the next meeting.

Ironically, participating in a peer advisory council meeting will save you time! Your council member peers can provide you with practical advice and actionable solutions in a fraction of the time it takes to work out a solution alone.

Since meetings occur on the same day each month, you can plan your council meetings up to a year in advance. If a conflict arises, you can request that your council meet on a different date. Members strive to accommodate each other’s schedules.

Without question. The intangible value of peace of mind might be the most valuable benefit, but our members have story after story about reduced expenses and increased profits based on their council discussions. One member saved his business $75,000 after just three meetings. In fact, LXCouncil-Powered peer group members’ companies routinely outperform those of their non-council peers.
